MOHAMMAD A. GHARAVI, M.D., F.A.C.S.

After completion of his formal medical training in Tehran, Dr. Gharavi continued his studies in the United States. His residency in General Surgery was completed at Mount Sinai Hospital, a Case Western Reserve University affiliated facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This was followed by a fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at University of Southern California Medical Center.

Dr. Gharavi's first staff appointment to the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery was at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles (1978-1985). After joining the medical staff at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, Dr. Gharavi founded the California Center for Cardiothoracic Surgery in November of 1987.

Board certified in general and thoracic surgery, he is presently Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center in Tarzana, California and at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California.

 

 

ROSTAM FARDIN, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Fardin is a native of Iran and studied medicine at Tehran University, School of Medicine. His internship and general surgery residency were completed at Cook County Hospital, Chicago. His cardiothoracic surgery residency was completed at the University of Maryland. His fellowship in cardiovascular surgery was completed at the Texas Heart Institute, Houston.

In 1972, Dr. Fardin was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Pahlavi University in Shiraz, Iran. He also held the positions of Assistant Chief and Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at Heart Hospital, Tehran, from 1977 to 1983.

Upon his return to the United States he was in private cardiothoracic surgery practice in Monroe, Louisiana. Dr. Fardin has been with Dr. Gharavi and the California Center for Cardiothoracic Surgery since its inception in 1987. Dr. Fardin is Board Certified in both general and thoracic surgery.

 

 

GHOLAM R. MOHAMMADZADEH, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Mohammadzadeh earned his bachelor of science degree in Biology at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980. He continued his education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and received his M.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 1982.

His undergraduate medical education was completed at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois in 1986 and he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha in his junior year. His internship in surgery was from 1986 to 1987 at the university of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was followed by four years of residency in general surgery at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia, which were completed in 1991. He continued his graduate medical education at the University of California San Diego Medical Center and completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery with particular interest in pulmonary endarterectomy.

Most recently he has been affiliated as a Staff Surgeon at Buttenvorih Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is Board certified in both general and thoracic surgery.
