taken from ‘Your letters: October 7, 2009’ “Terrific care How do I say thanks to cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Mohammad Gharavi, cardiologist Dr. John Hess and the staff of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for all that they have done for me?
On Sept. 3, I underwent open-heart surgery. From the angiogram and pinpoint diagnosis performed by Dr. Hess, followed by the actual surgery itself performed by the skilled hands of Dr. Gharavi and the surgical team, to the recovery care I received, it was an awesome experience.
From the admitting, to the pre-op and the post-op care, the four days of highly professional nursing care and finally discharge to my home, the doctors and staff at Los Robles Hospital performed at a level of excellence with great concern for my welfare and recovery.
Having been a volunteer at Los Robles since 1993, I regularly see patients being the top priority of the many various departments that are involved in that care. To experience it for myself is difficult to put into words of accolade and thanks.
I will forever be grateful from the bottom of my “new heart” to Dr. Gharavi and Dr. Hess for being a part of our Conejo Valley medical profession. I literally owe my life to both of them. Fellow Conejo Valley residents, don’t ever take for granted the many experienced and compassionate medical professionals and support staff who watch over our health. We are blessed to have these highly trained and caring folks among us.
Thanks again to everyone who has given me a new lease on life. I see the world around me, my family and friends through different eyes.
— Bob Fitch, Thousand Oaks”
